Cookie Policy
Last updated: January 2025 · Version 1.0
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how Sams Care uses them on samscare.uk, and how you can manage your preferences. We comply with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device on subsequent visits and remember certain information about your session.
Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remain on your device for a set period or until manually deleted).
2. How We Use Cookies
We take a minimal approach to cookies. Sams Care uses only strictly necessary cookies — we do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party marketing cookies.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Maintains your authenticated admin session. Required to keep you logged in to the admin portal. | Strictly necessary | Session / up to 7 days |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | PKCE security token used during authentication to prevent cross-site request forgery. | Strictly necessary | Session |
No consent required for strictly necessary cookies. Under UK PECR, cookies that are essential for the operation of the service (such as authentication) do not require prior user consent. We do not use any cookies that would require your permission.
3. Cookies We Do Not Use
To be transparent, the following types of cookies are not used on samscare.uk:
- Analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel)
- Advertising or retargeting cookies (e.g. Meta Pixel, Google Ads)
- Social media tracking cookies
- Performance monitoring cookies
- Third-party widgets that set cookies (e.g. live chat, embedded maps)
4. Third-Party Services
Our website is hosted on Vercel (London region) and uses Supabase for authentication and data storage. These services may set their own technical cookies as part of the infrastructure. These are covered under their respective privacy and cookie policies.
We do not permit any third-party services to set advertising or profiling cookies through our website.
5. How to Manage Cookies
Since we only use strictly necessary cookies, blocking them will affect the functionality of the admin portal (you will not be able to stay logged in). They do not affect the public-facing website for regular patients.
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Here are links to guidance for major browsers:
You can also visit allaboutcookies.org for general guidance on managing cookies across all browsers.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if we introduce new features that require additional cookies. Any changes will be reflected at samscare.uk/cookie-policy with an updated date. We will not add non-essential cookies without providing a means for you to consent first.
7. Contact Us
If you have any questions about our use of cookies, contact us at: sb.samscare@gmail.com
For complaints about our use of cookies, you may also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
